STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team began its 2024-25 indoor season at the Fasttrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon that featured schools from all three NCAA Divisions.
In sprints, first-year
Nadly Gyapong impressed by posting a time of 7.99 in the 60 meter dash which led all Division III runners in the race. She also led the Bears in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.50 in her collegiate debut and was second among Division III runners in the race. Sophomore
Aja McBride posted a time of 29.00 in the 200 meter dash and 8.65 in the 60 meter dash.
Senior
Meghan Carroll was the top finishing Division III runner in the 800 meter dash with her time of 2:26.00 to place fourth overall and junior
Mia Sideris placed third in the 3,000 meters on her time of 10:39.71 that was also the top of Division III runners in the race.
Junior
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman placed sixth in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 2.85 meters while junior
Amanda Traska placed third in the high jump behind a mark of 1.50 meters. First-year
Emily Barlam posted a mark of 5.24 meters in the long jump that placed her sixth overall and was top of all Division III athletes while classmate
Sam Leo cleared the bar at 4.74 meters. Barlam was the lone Bear in the triple jump and posted a mark of 9.86 meters. Sophomore
Hannah Quinn placed seventh overall and second among Division III throwers in the weight throw on her career best mark of 12.32 meters.
Ursinus returns to action on tomorrow, December 7th as they will host the annual Bow Tie Invitational starting at 10:00 a.m.
