Men's Lacrosse Battles Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team faced Arcadia on the road Wednesday night in non-conference action.
 
 
Senior Drake Kasoff led the Bears with a career-high five points behind scoring four goals and dishing out one assist. Senior Eddie Newman added three goals and junior Christopher Pucciarelli was the third Bear with multi goals with one.
 
 
Kasoff got the Bears on the board at the 13:36-mark of the first quarter before the Knights answered with two straight goals to go up 2-1. Newman tied the game at two at the 9:40-mark which started a stretch of back and forth action. Arcadia took a 4-3 lead after one quarter, but the Bears defense locked them down in the second quarter and goals from Pucciarelli plus Newman gave Ursinus a 5-4 lead at the half.
 
 
Arcadia came out of halftime with back-to-back goals and went up 6-5 before the Bears countered with two of their own to go up 7-6. The Knights scored four of the next five goals and went up 10-8 at the 13:10-mark of the fourth quarter. Ursinus rallied to tie the game at 10 with 9:36 left in regulation but the Knights scored the decisive goal at the 7:55-mark of the fourth quarter to go up by the eventual final score of 11-10.
 
 
The Knights held a 42-30 shot advantage for the game and a 24-20 edge in shots on goal. Arcadia also held a 49-34 edge in ground balls and a slight 13-12 advantage in faceoff wins. Bears senior goalkeeper Jonathan Singer made 13 saves while Knights goalkeeper Joseph Tesler made 10 in the contest.
 
 
The Bears return to action on Saturday, March 2nd as they will travel to face DeSales at 1:00 p.m.
