COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team suffered a 14-9 loss to No. 10 Gettysburg in their Centennial Conference opener on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Patterson Field.
Sophomore
Harry Sweitzer got the Bears on the board and the early lead with a goal at the 12:48-mark, but the Bullets scored four unanswered to go up 4-1 at the 6:24-mark. Ursinus got two quick goals to get within one at 4-3 at the 5:12-mark. Sophomore

Drake Kasoff for the goal. Gettysburg responded by scoring three unanswered goals between the late first and early second quarter to go up 7-3. Junior
Christopher Pucciarelli got one back for the Bears at the 9:52-mark to only be answered by two more Bullet tallies that put Gettysburg up 9-4 at the half.
Sophomore
Aidan Kirk scored in the opening minute of the second half to get Ursinus within 9-5 before adding another at the 11:04-mark to pull within three goals. Pucciarelli added another at the 6:11-mark to make it 9-7, but the Bullets got a goal at the buzzer that extended the lead back to 10-7 entering the fourth quarter. Senior goalkeeper
Jonathan Singer seemed to change momentum when he took advantage of an abandoned net by scoring the first goal of his collegiate career in the opening minute of the fourth quarter. However, the Bullets closed out the game by scoring four of the last five goals.
The Bullets held a 42-26 shot advantage for the game and a 21-18 edge in shots on goal. Gettysburg held a 35-30 advantage in ground balls while Ursinus owned a 15-11 edge in faceoff wins. Singer made seven saves in addition to his goal while Bullets goalie Chase Morgan made nine saves in the full time. Kirk, Pucciarelli, and Kasoff all tallied two goals apiece for the Bears.
Ursinus returns to action on Wednesday, March 27th as they will host Kean at 4:00 p.m. for their final non-conference tilt of the season.
