Drake Kasoff opened the scoring at the 13:22-mark of the first quarter, but the Cougars answered 12 seconds later following a turnover from the ensuing faceoff win. First-year
Jared Laskin put the Bears back in front 2-1 at the 5:39-mark before the Cougars responded again just over two minutes later to tie the game. Kean took its first lead of the game at 3-2 in the opening minute of the second quarter until the Bears got a goal on a fast transition from junior
Ryan Dever that tied the game at the 13:30-mark of the second. Kean got another goal at the 4:19-mark and held a 4-3 lead into halftime.
Ursinus netted two quick goals to open the third quarter and held a 5-4 lead at the 9:01-mark, but the Cougars ran off four straight of their own to take an 8-5 lead into the fourth quarter. The game of runs continued as the Bears rattled off four straight of their own to go up 9-8 with 8:48 left in regulation. Kean tied the game at nine at the 5:44-mark and sophomore
Harry Sweitzer put Ursinus back in front with 3:16 left in regulation. Kean responded fast to tie the game at 10 and scored another with 1:10 left in the fourth quarter.
The Cougars held a 47-40 shot advantage and a 30-24 edge in shots on goal. Kean held a slight 30-29 edge in ground balls and the Bears held a 13-11 advantage in faceoff wins. Senior goalkeeper
Jonathan Singer made a season-high 19 saves in the full 60 minutes while Kean goalkeeper Nick Paterno made 14 saves. Kasoff led the Bears with three points behind two goals and one assist.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, March 30th as they will travel to face McDaniel at 3:00 p.m.
