COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Basketball team earned an 85-77 win over Muhlenberg on Wednesday night at Helfferich Hall in Centennial Conference action.
With the win, the Bears improved to 10-6 overall and 3-1 in Centennial Conference play. Meanwhile, the Mules drop their fourth in a row to fall to 7-9 overall and 0-4 in conference action.

Trevor Wall led the Bears with a team-high 21 points, his 11th 20+ point game, while adding four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Senior
Marlin Wise scored 17 points behind going 8-of-12 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Junior
Mohamed Toure matched Wise with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 3-of-4 from three-point range and snatched seven rebounds. Junior
Nick Nocito was the fourth Bear in double-figures with 10 points plus a game-high five assists.
After the teams traded baskets to start the game, the Mules gained an early advantage in the contest by going up six on two occasions. Muhlenberg went up 15-9 at the 11:26-mark of the first half before the Bears got its offense going and went on a 10-2 run to take their first lead of the contest at 19-17 with 8:05 left in the first half. After Muhlenberg went back ahead 20-19 with a three-pointer, but Ursinus ran off 17 straight points to go up 36-20 with just 1:58 left in the first half. Muhlenberg closed the half out on a 7-2 burst that got them within 11 points at 38-27 going into halftime.
Grubbs got Ursinus started in the second half with a layup to make it a 40-27 game in the opening minute before Muhlenberg scored five straight points to get within eight at 40-32. The Bears used an 11-4 run to get their lead back up into double-digits at 51-36 with 15:11 left in the first half. Muhlenberg got back-to-back baskets to get within 51-40, but Ursinus answered with another extended run as they took a 65-45 lead at the 9:25-mark following a 14-5 burst.
The Bears shot 53.3 percent from the field (32-of-60) behind going 62.9 percent in the second half. Ursinus shot 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from three-point range and a near perfect 13-of-14 (92.9%) from the free throw line. Meanwhile, the Mules shot 36.5 percent (27-of-74) from the field and 25.8 percent (8-of-31) from three-point range. Muhlenberg went a perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line while the Bears held a 43-33 rebounding advantage.
Giovanni Rubino led Muhlenberg and all scorers with 29 points.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, January 25th as they will travel to face McDaniel at 2:00 p.m.
