NEW YORK CITY – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team competed against schools from all three NCAA Divisions at the Rutgers Scarlet Knight Open held at the New York City Armory on Friday.
The Bears had a pair of top-10 finishers in the long jump as senior
Rainah Dunham finished fourth overall with her mark of 5.75 meters and sophomore
Sam Wechsler was ninth on her season best jump of 5.41 meters. Wechsler also posted a season best mark in the triple jump on a mark of 10.72 meters.
Dunham also led a pair of Ursinus athletes in the 60 meters prelims after crossing the line at 7.95 to set a new season best and led all Division III runners in the race. First-year
Nadly Gyapong recorded a time of 8.22 in the race while Wechsler led a pair of Bears in the 60 meter hurdles with her time of 9.54. Junior
Kaelin Ryan led Ursinus in the 400 meters on her time of 1:00.79 and senior
Meghan Carroll posted a season best time of 2:21.93 in the 800 while being second among Division III runners in the event.
In throws, senior Tom Wood finished second overall in the shot put with a throw of 15.44 meters for the championship division while sophomore Carter Kensil was second in the college division with his mark of 13.84 meters. Senior Chase Shaneman finished seventh overall and was the top Division III athlete with his 14.70 meter mark in the weight throw.

Mia Sideris recorded a time of 10:36.04 in the 3,000 meters and finished 11th overall and was second among Division III runners. Sophomore
Madison Lippay and junior
Amanda Traska both cleared the high jump at 1.45 meters while first-year
Sam Leo posted a long jump mark of 4.68 meters.
The 4x400 relay team of Carroll, junior
Veronica Filippone, first-year
Aubrey Myers, and junior
Corrine Martello recorded a time of 4:27.00 and finished eighth overall.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, February 8th as they will host the annual Frank Colden Invitational, their last home indoor meet of the season, starting at 8:45 a.m.
