COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus volleyball team was defeated in four sets by Washington College (18-25, 25-22, 16-25, 22-25) at Helfferich Hall in Centennial Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

Mel Eglinton completed a kill-dig double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs and first-year
Lauren McGinn recorded a match-high 19 digs and 10 kills. Senior
Reena Robinson had nine kills and seven digs while senior
Erin Dychdala pace the Bears offense with a career-high 32 assists.
Each team scored three straight points to open the first set and the Bears took a 9-6 advantage behind four straight points. Ursinus maintained a four-point lead at 13-9 and eventually at 15-11 following back-to-back points. The Bears led 16-12, but the Shorewomen won 13 of the next 15 points to close out the first set.
The second set saw back and forth action with nine lead changes and nine ties before the Bears gained the first multi-point lead of the set at 10-8 following a kill from McGinn. Ursinus won three of the next four points to go up 14-11 after the set was tied at 10 until the Shorewomen won six straight points to go up 17-14. However, the Bears countered by winning five of the next seven points to tie the set at 19 and pulled out the set by taking five of six points after trailing 21-20.
Ursinus worked through more back and forth action to take a 7-5 lead in the third set before four straight Washington points swung the score to 9-7. The Bears got within one point at 12-11, before the Shorewomen took control of the set by winning 12 of the next 15 points to go up 24-15. Washington won six straight points in that stretch after leading just 18-15.
The Shorewomen opened the fourth set by going up 3-1 until the Bears won five of the next six points to take the lead at 6-4. Washington took back the lead at 8-7 before Ursinus won seven of the next 10 points to take a 14-11 leading to force a timeout. The Shorewomen won five of the next six points out of the timeout to take the lead back at 16-15, but Ursinus won three straight points to go back up 18-16. Three straight points from the Shorewomen gave them a 19-18 lead and the Bears battled back to tie the set at 21. However, Washington won four of the next five points to close out the match.

st as they will host Neumann at 7:00 p.m.
