COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Football team dropped a 52-20 game to Franklin & Marshall on Homecoming Saturday in Centennial Conference play at Patterson Field.
 
 
Franklin & Marshall initially went up 14-0 in the first quarter behind turning away Ursinus a three-and-out on the opening drive and a sack fumble two drives later. The Diplomats scored on their first drive of the second quarter to make it 21-0 at the 8:43-mark of the second quarter. Ursinus got on the board on their ensuing drive when junior running back 
Jason Bernard scored on a 3-yard touchdown run to make it 21-0. He set the touchdown drive up with a 42-yard run on the second play of the drive. The Diplomats responded with a 5:17 drive to score a touchdown and go up 28-7 at the half.
 
 
The Diplomats added to their lead with a field goal to open the second half that made it 31-7 before scoring a touchdown off another third-and-long conversion in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter to make it 38-7. Junior quarterback 
Tristan Machado threw his first touchdown pass of the game a drive later when he made junior wide receiver 
Ryder Zulkowski that made it 38-13. A missed call on a potential fumble at the 1-yard line off a long run led to a F&M touchdown plus a pick-6 on the next Ursinus drive put F&M up 52-13. Senior quarterback

Jaylen Quick for a 44-yard touchdown pass to cap the scoring of the game one drive later.
 
 
Ursinus sophomore defensive back 
Nick Strusowski earned the Kenneth E. Walker Trophy that is awarded every Ursinus homecoming game following recording seven tackles (four solo) and one interception.
 
 
The Bears host Gettysburg at 1:00 p.m. next Saturday, November 1st.
