FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – A pair of Ursinus Men's Tennis student-athletes competed at the ITA Southeast Regionals this weekend at the University of Mary Washington.
Juniors
Teddy Snyder and
Deniz Finkel competed for the Bears in singles and doubles action.
Snyder and Finkel each competed in the championship singles bracket which began Friday. Finkel dropped 6-0, 6-1 match to Jason Li of Johns Hopkins in B1 singles while Snyder suffered a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Sahil Arora of Washington & Lee. They duo moved onto the consolation bracket on Saturday where Snyder advanced via injury forfeit before losing 8-1 to Will Secord of Carnegie Mellon. Finkel was bested 8-4 by Braden Chavez of Carnegie Mellon.
In B1 doubles play, Snyder and Finkel suffered an 8-3 loss to Todd Cannaliato and Justin Ilie of Washington & Lee on Friday. The duo bounced back on Saturday to defeat Chase Catullo and Tim Holt of Salisbury 8-5 before suffering a tough 8-7(8-6) loss to Artem Babaiev and Neal Love of Shenandoah.
The Bears will return to action on Wednesday, October 8th as they will travel to face Goucher at 4:00 p.m.
