CARLISLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Centennial Conference (23-25, 25-23, 16-25, 17-25) match to Dickinson on Saturday afternoon.

Reena Robinson led the Bears with 12 kills on a .407 hitting percentage and classmate
Mel Eglinton tallied a kill-dig double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs. Senior
Erin Dychdala registered a career-high 30 assists while adding nine digs and two kills.
Ursinus started strong in the first set by taking a 4-1 lead before extending it out to 8-3. The Red Devils got three straight points to make it an 8-6 set before the Bears responded with five straight points of their own to go up 13-6. Dickinson won five of the next seven points to cut the deficit down to 15-11 and made it an 18-16 set after the Bears had gone back up 18-12. It was a sign of things to come as the Bears went up 22-20 until the Red Devils won five of the last six points to win the first set.
The Bears went up 6-4 to start the second set and the Red Devils won three straight points to go up 7-6. Ursinus responded by taking eight of the next 11 points to go up 14-11. Ursinus extended its lead to 18-13, but once again the Red Devils won seven of the next eight points to go up 20-19. However, this time it was the Bears that rallied down the stretch and won six of the next nine points, behind the last four, to win 25-23.
Ursinus won the first two points of the third set and Dickinson won seven of the next nine points to go up 7-4. The Bears won three straight points to tie the set at seven, but the Red Devils won seven of the next nine points to go up 14-9. The Bears battled back to get within two points at 15-13 until the Red Devils took control of the set by winning nine of the next 11 points to go up 23-15.
It was all Red Devils to start in the fourth set as they jumped out to a 7-1 lead and worked their lead out to 10-4. Dickinson maintained their lead out to 14-7 and the Bears would get no closer than four points the rest of the way. The Bears made one last charge by winning four straight points to get within 22-16 before the Red Devils closed out the set and match.
The Bears return to action next Saturday, October 11
th as they will take on No. 9 Johns Hopkins at 12:00 p.m.
