COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – For the seventh straight season, the Ursinus field hockey team had four student-athletes named to the All-Centennial Conference Field Hockey Team, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Senior midfielder
Gigi Testa represented the Bears on the first team, while junior
Marie Brainard earned second-team honors. Senior goalie
Adriana Palladinetti and junior
Kirsten Johnson each garnered honorable mention recognition.
Testa started all 18 games for the Bears in the midfield, ranking fourth on the team with nine points on four goals and one assist. She recorded the Bears' game-winning goal over No. 15 University of Lynchburg on Sept. 13 and added goals in the team's victories over Washington College and Gettysburg. For her career, Testa started 55 straight games and finished with 31 points on 14 goals and three assists.
Brainard repeated as a second-team honoree after earning honorable mention as a rookie. She ranked second on the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists. Brainard started 15 games this season and recorded multi-goal performances in the Bears' wins over DeSales and Muhlenberg. Against DeSales, she set a new career high with five points on two goals and an assist. The Wilmington, Delaware, native tallied game-winning goals in victories over William Smith and Washington College, while adding two assists in the team's win over No. 20 Ithaca College.
Palladinetti was a mainstay in goal for the Bears, starting all 18 games and finishing with a 9-9 record, including four shutouts. Her season was highlighted by an 11-save performance in the team's shutout win over Lynchburg, and she set a new career high with 13 saves in the Bears' victory over Muhlenberg. On the season, she ranked fourth in the Centennial Conference with 93 saves and an .802 save percentage. For her career, she ranks eighth all-time in program history with 274 career saves and ninth with eight career shutouts.
Johnson was outstanding for the Bears this season, leading the team in points (18), goals (6), and assists (6). She started all 18 games at forward and scored a goal in three consecutive contests from Aug. 31 through Sept. 10. The Smyrna, Delaware, native tied a career high with four points on a goal and two assists in the team's win over William Smith. Johnson recorded the game-winning goals in victories over No. 20 Ithaca and DeSales, and added a goal and an assist in the wins over Gettysburg and Muhlenberg.
Senior forward
Remi Lloyd represented Ursinus on the All-Sportsmanship Team. Lloyd tallied three goals this season, including the game-winning scores against Bryn Mawr and Muhlenberg.
