NFHCA Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ursinus Field Hockey saw four members join the more than 550 Division III student-athletes who were recognized as Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association of America (NFHCA).
Sophomores
Hailey Johnson,
Hadley Whitman,
Ava Wood and first-year
Sophia Penza represented the Bears on the list
The NFHCA's Scholars of Distinction program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher during the first semester of the 2025-26 academic year.
Whitman earned the Scholar of Distinction honor for the second straight season while Johnson, Wood, and Penza earned the accolade for the first time in their respective careers.
The Bears placed 19 team members on the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad released last week. The National Academic Team Award will be announced Tuesday, February 17th to round out the NFHCA postseason academic awards.
