PHILADELPHIA – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team went back to work by competing at the Widener Indoor Classic hosted at the University of Pennsylvania's brand new Ott Center on Saturday.
Competing against schools from all three divisions, Ursinus turned in a strong showing with the Centennial Indoor Track & Field Championships approaching.
Senior
Rainah Dunham cruised to wins in both jumping events she competed in. Dunham recorded a mark of 5.77 in the long jump and won the triple jump at 12.36 meters. Sophomore
Sam Wechsler placed seventh in the long jump at 5.35 meters and was eighth on the triple jump on her mark of 11.04 meters. Wechsler also knocked down a season best time of 9.25 meters in the 60 meter hurdles and finished ninth.
Junior
Kaelin Ryan recorded personal bests in the 60 meter hurdles and 200 meters with times of 9.38 and 26.31, respectively. First-year
Nadly Gyapong also recorded a personal best in the 200 with her time of 26.32. Junior
Mia Sideris notched a personal best time of her own in the mile after crossing the line at 5:19.51.
First-year
Mia Bompensa bested her previous top mark in the pole vault at 3.05 meters and junior
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman finished with a mark of 2.75 meters. First-year
Lily McGrath was the lone thrower competing on Friday and posted a weight throw mark of 10.54 meters.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, February 22nd as they will compete in Haverford's annual Keogh Invitational starting at 10:00 a.m.
