COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's lacrosse team battled on Saturday afternoon, but eventually fell to No. 14 The College of New Jersey, 20-8, from Patterson Field.

Grace Lynch led the Bears offense with three goals, while classmate

Jaime Michaud each added two goals apiece. Michaud finished with a team-high two caused turnovers with McCann leading the Bears totaling 11 draw controls.

Meghan Vizian converted on a women-up opportunity to make the score 3-2 at the 9:00-mark. On a free-position shot, Vizian sprinted towards the cage and sent her shot above the TCNJ netminder for the score. The Lions closed out the first period on a 4-1 run and held a 7-3 advantage entering the second stanza. McCann added her first goal of the contest at the 2:19-mark as she received a pass at the top of the circle, before splitting two defenders and firing a bouncing shot into the back of the cage.
Ursinus cut their deficit to 7-4 with 9:54 remaining in the first half as sophomore
Dana DeSiato found Lynch for her second goal of the contest. The Lions responded with four straight goals over three minutes of action to increase their lead to 11-4 with 7:38 to play in the first half. TCNJ closed out the first half on a 3-1 run and held a 14-5 advantage at the halftime break. For Ursinus, Lynch added her final score as junior
Skyler Bogdan assisted Lynch for the goal. After TCNJ opened the second half with a goal, Ursinus answered with a score from Michaud at the 7:55-mark. The Lions ended the third period on a 2-1 run and extended their advantage to 17-7 heading into the final stanza. McCann and Michaud each added goals to close out the contest as Ursinus fell by a score of 20-8.
The Lions held a 36-19 lead in shots, a 21-10 advantage in ground balls, while Ursinus earned a 20-10 edge in draw controls. TCNJ converted on 73.6% (14-of-19) of their clear attempts with the Bears recording a clear percentage of 58.3% (7-of-12). TCNJ's Gabriella Roosa finished with a game-high seven goals, while CJ Kole added four goals and six assists. The Bears return to action on Saturday, March 8th as they host Christopher Newport University from Patterson Field at noon.
