COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Soccer team was downed 4-1 by No. 1-0 Dickinson in their Centennial Conference opener on Saturday at Patterson Field.
The teams traded shots wide of the net in the first part of the first half until the Red Devils cashed in on their first opportunity that reached the net with a goal in the 29
th minute of the game. The goal opened things up for Dickinson as they added goals in the 36
th and 44
th minutes to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Red Devils added their fourth and final goal just 1:07 into the second half to extend their advantage. First-year
Eliot Bowen got the Bears on the board with his first collegiate goal after a strong throw in that went off the hands of the Red Devils goalkeeper and into the net.
Dickinson held a slight 13-11 shot advantage and a 5-2 edge in shots on goal. Ursinus held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Junior Bears goalkeeper
Josiah Moore and Dickinson goalkeeper Nick Potter each made one save in 90 minutes for Dickinson.
The Bears return to action on Tuesday, September 23rd as they will travel to face Wilkes at 7:00 p.m.
