Strusowski, Carr Garner Centennial Football Weekly Awards

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A pair of Ursinus football players earned Centennial Conference Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference on Sunday morning.

Sophomore defensive back Nick Strusowski was named the defensive player of the week while senior kicker/punter Jordan Carr took home special teams player of the week honors.

Strusowski had a pair of interceptions to help lead Ursinus to a 35-7 win over Moravian on Saturday afternoon. He had both interceptions in the first half with the first one stopping a Greyhounds drive in the red zone. He added seven tackles (five solo) and one tackle for a loss that tied for the team lead. He now has three interceptions in two games following his pick-6 last week.

Carr had a flawless day for the Bears in their 35-7 win over Moravian. He went a perfect 5-for-5 in extra points and hit a career long 62-yard punt in the first half. He averaged a career best 51.7 yards per punt on three attempts.

This is the first time Strusowski has earned a weekly Centennial Conference award while Carr picked up the special teams nod for the second time in his career and first since October 2023.

The Bears have a week off before returning to action on Saturday, October 4th as they will travel to face Muhlenberg in their Centennial Conference opener at 1:00 p.m.
