COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team opened Centennial Conference play against Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon at Patterson Field.
Despite having multiple early chances, the Bears ultimately could not get their offense going in the first half and the Diplomats built a commanding 13-0 lead at halftime. Sophomore
Daniel Rice got the Bears on the board at the 9:57-mark in the third quarter and senior
Barrett Denlinger followed just under a minute later with a goal that made it 14-2. Rice struck again for his second goal at the 6:14-mark of the third quarter and four different Bears scored in the fourth quarter to bring the final score to 18-7.
The Diplomats held a 52-35 shot advantage for the game and a 30-21 edge in shots on goal. Ursinus held both a 38-29 advantage in ground balls and a slight 15-12 advantage in face off wins. Bears sophomore goalkeeper
Colin Daroch made 12 saves in the full 60 minutes. Denlinger led the Bears with two goals and one assist for three points while senior
Harry Sweitzer matched him with three points on two assists and a goal. Rice had two goals, senior

Aidan Kirk scored a goal as well.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, March 25th as they will host Washington College at 4:00 p.m.
