ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team rallied to earn a dramatic 4-3 win over Muhlenberg on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
The Mules gained the first point after sweeping the doubles matches. Junior
Deniz Finkel and sophomore
Russell Nour lost 6-3 to William Rose and Max Gofton at the No. 1 spot before senior
Andrei Bogdan and junior
Teddy Snyder lost 7-5 at No. 3 doubles to Josh Simon and Sam Stein. Junior
Noah Dichter and first-year
Bogdan Maksimovic then dropped a 7-5 to Owen Dyer and Matt Miller at No. 2 doubles.
Nour dropped a 2-6, 4-6 match to Miller at No. 3 singles and Snyder outlasted Rose 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 at No. 2 singles to get the Bears on the board. The Mules got to match point after Finkel dropped a tough 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 4-6 match to Dyer at the No. 1 spot but stayed alive when sophomore
Charles DiCicco beat Casey Knipe 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. First-year
James Fassbender leveled the match with a 6-0, 6-1 No. 6 singles win over Gabriel Tamarkin and Dichter delivered the winner by besting Grofton 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, April 25th as they will wrap their season by hosting Franklin & Marshall for senior day at 11:00 a.m.
