LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Bears took game one of their Centennial Conference doubleheader 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon with Franklin & Marshall.
Ursinus initially got on the board in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead after first-year

Kayla Carr roped a two-run double to right field to make it 3-0. Senior pitcher
Christa Andrusiewicz helped her cause out by hitting her first career home run to make it 4-0 in the top of the fourth and first-year
Tierney Stuempfle added a two-out RBI single in the fifth to make it 5-0 in the top of the fifth. The Diplomats rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it 5-3 but Andrusiewicz allowed no further damage the rest of the way. The Bears took advantage of an error in the top of the seventh to go up 6-3 and held on from there. In game two, first-year
Tierney Stuempfle gave the Bears a 2-0 lead in the first with a two-run home run. The Diplomats scored four runs to go up 4-2 in the bottom of the third before Stuempfle answered with a two-run double in the fifth to tie the game at four. The Diplomats built an 8-4 lead going into the seventh and the Bears scored three runs in the seventh that made it 8-7.
Andrusiewicz went 3-for-3 with her home run at the plate while allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits with three strikeouts in the circle. Carr went 2-for-4 with an RBI in game one. Stuempfle recorded a career-high four RBI's behind going 2-of-4 from the plate and sophomore
Anna Evanchik went 2-of-3 from the plate with three runs scored in game two. Davidson went 2-for-4 with an RBI in game two as well.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, April 25th as they will wrap up their regular season against Salisbury for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
