All-Academic Teams
NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College women's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) while recent graduates
Kaelin Ryan and
Jaycie Miller plus and rising senior
Sam Wechsler along with rising sophomores
Sophia Pascale and
Laela Middleton received All-Academic Athlete recognition, the organization announced on Monday.
To earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.1. The Bears earned a 3.48 GPA, marking the 10
th consecutive season of All-Academic Team laurels with the first coming for
Derek Nelson as the head coach.

Addison Rogers were all named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring.
Wechsler made the All-Academic Athlete roster for the third time in her career while Ryan made her second, and Miller, Middleton, plus Pascale made their first which honors student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and rank among the top-50 individuals or top-35 relay units in the nation.
Wechsler, a biology/Spanish major, successfully defended her triple jump championship at the Centennial Outdoor Championships and earned All-Region honors once again.
Ryan, a biology graduate, claimed Second Team All-American honors in both NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships and four All-Metro Region nods in an outstanding final collegiate season. Ryan repeated her Centennial Conference Most Outstanding Women's Track Performer behind her four medals of two golds and two silvers at the Outdoor Championships to sweep the Most Outstanding Performers at the Centennial Track & Field Championships.
Miller, Middleton, and Pascale teamed up with Ryan to earn their nod behind holding the second fastest 4x400 Indoor time after setting the Ursinus School record at the Centennial Indoor Championships. Middleton and Pascale were 4x100 gold medalists at the Outdoor Championships while Pascale won gold in both 400 meter dashes at the Centennial Championship meets. Miller added another 4x400 silver medal in the Spring as well.
