COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Volleyball team hosted Cairn on Thursday night in non-conference action at Helfferich Hall.

Madison Small led the Bears with nine kills and 12 digs while senior
Alexa Mazzeo led the team with 15 digs.
The Bears won the first three points of the first set and battled back and forth with the Highlanders throughout. Ursinus held a 12-11 lead before Cairn took control by winning six of the next seven points and did not relinquish the lead in the first set after that. Cairn went up 4-2 in the second set until the Bears won four straight points to go up 6-4. However, the Highlanders powered ahead by taking 15 of the next 19 points to go up 19-10 and cruised from there. Cairn once again got a fast start in the third set by going up 6-2 initially and out to 9-4. The Higlanders went up 15-9 before the Bears made a last charge by taking nine of the next 13 points to get within one point at 19-18. However, the Highlandes closed the match out by winning six of the last eight points.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, September 19
th as they will host Cedar Crest and Immaculata for a tri-match starting at 11:00 a.m.
