COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus scored the first nine goals of
the game as the Bears (9-4, 4-2 Centennial) defeated Swarthmore
(7-6, 1-5 Centennial) 17-6 on Tuesday night in women's
lacrosse action.
Sophomore midfielder Emily Diehl (Lebanon, N.J./Voorhees) had a
game-high five goals, including four in the first half as the Bears
outshot the Garnet 25-10 on the night.
Junior midfielder Emily Hummel (Lumberton, N.J./Moorestown
Friends), sophomore midfielder Kim Peifer (Collegeville,
Pa./Methacton) each had three goals, while freshman attack Meghan
Morley (West Chester, Pa./Westtown) and junior attack Lindsey Urban
(Doylestown, Pa./C.B. East) had two goals each for Ursinus.
Junior midfielder Allison Furman (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown)
had two assists in the win.
Defensively, junior midfielder Hannah Kuranz (Dallas,
Texas/Sanford) had five draw controls, while senior defender Cindy
Taylor (Schwenksville, Pa./Boyertown) had three groundballs.
In goal, senior Alex McBride (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township)
had three saves in the first half, while junior goalkeeper Emma
Bacharach (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) played the second
half.
