Three is the magic number: Women's Lacrosse locks up three seed in CC playoffs with win

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's lacrosse team locked up the third seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs Friday afternoon with a 14-5 win over Muhlenberg in the regular season finale for both teams.

The Bears (8-8, 6-3 Centennial) took as much as a nine-goal lead over the Mules (7-8, 3-6 Centennial) in the win with a 35-20 shot advantage.

For Ursinus, senior midfielder Allison Furman (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) had four goals and three assists for a total of seven points, while junior midfielder Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) had three goals, as did senior attack Lindsey Urban (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) and sophomore midfielder Megan Horney (Newark, Del./St. Mark's).

Senior midfielder Emma Bacharach (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) had two assists in the win for Ursinus, who will play Gettysburg next week in the semifinals at F&M.

Individually, Thren had eight ground balls and four caused turnovers, while Furman added in four caused turnovers as well. Urban and Bacharach had three draw controls. 

In goal, sophomore Jackie Kimmel (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) had seven saves.
