Ursinus Women's Lacrosse were rolled by the Bullets of Gettysburg 20-2. Gettysburg dominated the game start to finish never relenting as they cruised to the victory.
Gettysburg exploded out of the gates tallying four goals in the first two and a half minutes. Senior attacker Bridget Kenny (Gladstone, NJ) tallied the first two goals on the contest less than a minute apart from each other giving the Bullets the 2-0 lead.
Not to be outdone, senior attacker Mandy Buell (Westminster, MD) netted two goals of her own back-to-back to extend the Bullets lead to 4-0 before anyone could even blink.
Back from injury sophomore midfielder Amy Kohout (West Deptford, NJ) tallied two goals less than a minute apart to cut the lead down to 5-2. However, it was all the offense the Bears could muster as Gettysburg shut Ursinus down and out for the rest of the afternoon.
Freshmen goalie Meghan Corbin recorded three saves on the afternoon facing a barrage of 27 shots, 23 of which were on net. Ursinus in the meantime only managed a total of nine shots all day, eight of which were on net.
The loss dropped the Bears to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in the Centennial Conference. Gettysburg moves to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Ursinus will return home to take on the Diplomats of Franklin and Marshall Wednesday April 15th at 7:00 PM.
