COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Behind winning eight of the 11 events, the Ursinus College women's swimming team cruised to a 117-85 victory over Bryn Mawr College on Friday evening from the William Elliott Pool.
Junior
Sara Bozzomo and sophomore
Morgan Valeriano led the Bears by each earning a pair of event victories, while Ursinus won the 400-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay races as well. The meet opened with Ursinus winning the 400-yard Medley Relay as the quartet of seniors

Molly Stevens, and sophomore
Melanie Hahn combined for a time of 4:13.24.
Senior Emilly Carkhuff followed suit by winning the 1000-yard freestyle by 24 seconds, touching the wall at 11:20.07. Carkhuff's time ended up being 13 seconds faster then the time she recorded at the Centennial Quad Meet to open the season. The Bears increased their match lead by earning the top-two times in the 200-yard freestyle as Bozzomo placed first behind a time of 2:00.00 and sophomore
Sylvi Lynch took second touching the wall at 2:10.68.
First-years
Maria Wehmeyer (26.91) and
Haley Lenker (27.93) placed third and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle respectively, with each time marking as a collegiate low. Next, Valeriano collected her first event victory of the meet by earning the top-time in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:14.79. Sophomore
Mia Tamburrino placed third in the race, finishing with a time of 2:29.52. Valeriano added her second victory of the night in the 200-yard backstroke (2:15.76) with Zelinske placing second stopping the clock at 2:19.96.
Barlow won by three seconds in the 100-yard freestyle earning a time of 55.74, while Lenker placed third touching the wall at 1:01.09. In the ninth event, the 500-yard freestyle Bozzomo (5:32.07) and Carkhuff (5:33.34) earned the top-three times to clinch the meet for Ursinus. The Bears closed out the meet by taking first in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Hahn, Bozzomo, Wehmeyer, and Valeriano combined for a time of 1:43.61.
The Bears will return to action tomorrow as they host Widener University for a dual meet starting at 1 p.m.
