COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team hosted its annual Bow Tie Invitational at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Saturday to complete a split squad weekend.
Senior
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman claimed a pair of wins for the Bears as she won the 60 meter hurdles at 9.94 and the pole vault at 3.10 meters. Sophomore
Mia Bompensa was second at 3.10 meters for the pole vault and Senior
Lucy Cornett was fifth at 2.35 meters.
Sophomore
Nadly Gyapong finished second in the 200 meters at 26.84 and Bauroth-Sherman placed sixth after crossing the line at 28.00.
In jumps, senior
Amanda Traska finished second in the high jump at 1.35 meters and sophomore
Emily Barlam was also second in the long jump at 4.97 meters. First-year
Sam Leo was third in the long jump at 4.82 meters and first-year
Arnie Etienne was fifth at 4.61 meters. Etienne led a trio of Bears in the triple jump in third at 10.40 meters while senior
Rhiannon Okuniewski was fourth at 10.01 meters and first-year
Isabel Dela Torre was fifth at 9.80 meters.
Junior
Randi Wood paced the Bears in two throwing events with a throw of 9.52 meters in the weight throw to finish fourth and replicated the same finish in the shot put at 9.89 meters. Junior
Talia Jones was sixth in the shot put at 9.28 meters.
First-year
Nyanah Campbell finished eighth in the 800 meters and classmates
Melody McDonough plus
Addison Hessler finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 3,000 meters on times of 12:53.48 and 14:05.12. Sophomore
Julianna Mullen was ninth at 21:14.05 in the 5,000 meters while first-year
Cadence Shaw was 12
th at 22:33.97.
The 4x400 relay team of Campbell, senior
Veronica Filippone, junior
Kira Wise, and first-year
Allison Severino finished second with a time of 4:32.95.
Ursinus has a month off before returning to action on Sunday, January 18th by hosting the Collegeville Classic at 10:00 a.m.
