LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's swimming team closed out their 2024-25 season by finishing fifth overall at the Centennial Conference Championships on Sunday.
The Bears totaled 317 team points, while Swarthmore College (1017) repeated as team champions. Gettysburg College (869) ranked second, Franklin & Marshall (421.5) took third, and Dickinson College (329) rounded out the top-four teams. Behind Ursinus, Washington College (291) placed sixth, Bryn Mawr (162.5) finished seventh, and McDaniel (133) completed the eight-team field.
Senior
Emily Carkhuff opened the final session by finishing seventh overall in the 1650-yard freestyle totaling a time of 18:05.84. Sophomore
Morgan Valeriano reached the A-Final of the 200-yard backstroke and placed eighth behind a time of 2:08.15. Her preliminary time of 2:07.59 ranked just shy of her personal best of 2:07.57 which ranks sixth all-time in program history.
Senior
Molly Stevens shaved two seconds off her preliminary time and finished fourth in the B-Final by touching the wall at 2:11.05. Classmate
Alexandra Zelinske added a fifth-place nod in the B-Final with a time of 2:11.85. In the A-Final of the 100-yard freestyle, junior
Sara Bozzomo placed seventh overall by earning a time of 52.75 which ranks as a personal best and eighth in program history.
Sophomore
Melanie Hahn shined in the 200-yard breaststroke by placing seventh overall with a time of 2:27.04. Hahn's time ranked as a personal best and currently ranks fourth all-time in program history. Katie Barlow, Hahn, and Valeriano combined for a time of 3:32.68.
