PHILADELPHIA – Ursinus Men's Wrestler
Anthony Cerulli was selected to the Philly-SIDA Men's At-Large Academic All-Area Team, announced by the organization on Thursday morning.
To be nominated, student-athletes need to have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have completed at least one full year of classes at their current institution. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Cerulli posted a 33-13 record at 174lbs this season and won his first Centennial Conference Championship this season. He finished fourth at the Region III Championships. Cerulli continued to be a dominant force on the mat as he led the team in victories, while earning a team-high 20 falls. Last year, Cerulli led the team with 17 falls, with 16 of them coming in the first period. Cerulli was also named an NWCA Scholar All-American for his hard work in the classroom.
Cerulli is the first men's wrestler from Ursinus to earn a spot on the At-Large Academic All-Area Team.
