Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A 10-goal second period carried the Ursinus College women's lacrosse team to an 18-9 victory over McDaniel College on Senior Day at Patterson Field.
With the win, Ursinus closed out the regular season with a 7-10 overall record, a 3-5 mark in Centennial Conference play, and clinched the No. 5 spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs. Meanwhile, the Green Terror ended their 2025 campaign with a 6-11 record and an 0-8 finish in conference action. Entering today, Ursinus needed a victory while Haverford's 10-6 victory over Swarthmore locked up the Bears second playoff berth in the last three seasons.

Sophomore
Dana DeSiato led the Bears, setting a career high with eight points on five assists and three goals. It marked her fourth game this season with five or more assists, and she now ranks tied for third with 41 assists in a single season. Leonzi recorded her eighth hat trick of the season, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Sophomore
Cait Michalowski led the Bears defense with four ground balls, while McCann and Hook each caused two turnovers.
With rain falling throughout the first period, both offenses struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities until sophomore
Ryann Buchner scored the game's first goal at the 6:05-mark. On a free-position play, Buchner sprinted in front of the goal and used a left-handed bouncing shot to open the scoring. McDaniel quickly answered at the 4:51 mark to tie the contest at 1-1 with a goal from Charlotte Alexander. On the ensuing possession, McCann forced a turnover that led to a goal by Lynch to give Ursinus a 2-1 lead. Sophomore
Jaime Michaud found Lynch just outside the crease for her 21st goal of the season. The Bears fired two more shots on goal over the remainder of the period and held a one-goal advantage entering the second stanza.
As the weather cleared at the beginning of the second period, the Bears responded with three straight goals to extend their lead to 5-1. DeSiato recorded back-to-back assists on a pair of goals by Leonzi, while junior
Ashley Noto added her first of the game. The Bears extended their run to 6-0 in the period, with DeSiato and junior
Meghan Vizian combining for three more goals to stretch the lead to 8-1 with 6:37 remaining in the first half. After a McDaniel goal, Ursinus closed the half on a 4-0 run and entered the break with a commanding 12-2 lead. McCann, Lynch and Leonzi each scored, while Michaud added the final tally of the half.
DeSiato tallied her fourth assist of the game at the 14:14 mark of the third, setting up Child on a score to increase the lead to 13-2. Positioned at "X," DeSiato found Child cutting toward the crease, and Child capitalized with her first goal of the game. The Green Terror answered by scoring three of the next four goals to cut the deficit to 14-5 entering the final stanza.
McDaniel struck first in the fourth quarter, but the Bears responded with a goal by DeSiato to make it 15-6. After another McDaniel goal, Ursinus bounced back with two straight scores from Child and sophomore
Whitney Hershey her 13th of the season to extend the advantage to 17-7 with nine minutes remaining. McDaniel scored two of the final three goals, but Ursinus closed out the 18-9 win and secured its spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs.
Ursinus held a 29-21 edge in shots and a 17-12 advantage in draw controls, while McDaniel led 15-12 in ground balls. The Bears converted on 81.2 percent (13 of 16) of their clear attempts, while McDaniel posted a 90.9 percent success rate (10 of 11). First-year netminder
Allison McAnally earned the win for Ursinus, tallying nine saves in 60 minutes of action—tying her career high set March 22 against Haverford. McDaniel's Caleigh Kohr recorded five saves in 45 minutes, while Audrey Musser took the loss in goal.
The Bears will return to action Tuesday, April 29, when they travel to Allentown, Pennsylvania, for a first-round matchup against Muhlenberg College.
