Mallen Named NFCA Third Team All-American

NFCA Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Recent Ursinus College softball graduate Samantha Mallen punctuated her decorated career by receiving All-America third team honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Mallen becomes the third player in program history to earn All-American honors and the first since Janetta Trecroce earned back-to-back honors in 1996 and 1997. Nicole Kiwak was the first Ursinus softball All-American in program history back in 1995. She was one of 55 student-athletes to earn a spot on the Division III All-American team.

The Belle Mead, New Jersey native also garnered NFCA All-Region V First Team honors which was the first Bears softball player to do so since 2013. Mallen was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year in addition to adding her second straight All-Centennial First Team honor. Mallen put together one of the best individual seasons in program history by setting the Ursinus single-season hits, stolen bases, and runs scored record while also retaking the Centennial Conference single-season stolen base record. She became the first player in Ursinus program history to record 200+ hits for her career and now owns the Bears career hits, stolen bases, and runs scored program record.

In 2025, Mallen posted a career best .462 batting average that ranked third in the Centennial Conference and led the Centennial with 67 hits after the regular season. She ranked second in the Centennial with 49 runs scored and swiped 48 bases that also ranks third in all of NCAA Division III. Mallen had multi-hit games in 22 of the Bears 42 games and stole at least one base in 32 of them with only being thrown out twice. She also hit a double and recorded five RBI. Mallen will finish her career with 202 hits which ranks fourth all-time in Centennial Conference history, 139 runs scored, 120 stolen bases, and 49 RBI
