Mallen Named Player of the Year, Four Earn Softball All-CC Honors

All-Centennial Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Samantha Mallen was named the Centennial Conference Softball Player of the Year to headline four Bears on the All-Centennial Conference Softball Team, announced by the league on Thursday morning.

Mallen was also named to the first team and was joined by junior third baseman Kayla Carr on the team. First-year pitcher Lucy Wolf earned second team honors while junior pitcher Christa Andrusiewicz garnered honorable mention.

Mallen became the first Ursinus player to be named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year since Allison Pfrommer did so in 2013. Mallen had a record-breaking season for the Bears that saw her set the Ursinus single-season hits, stolen bases, and runs scored record while also retaking the Centennial Conference single-season stolen base record. She became the first player in Ursinus program history to record 200+ hits for her career and now owns the Bears career hits, stolen bases, and runs scored program record. This season, Mallen posted a career best .462 batting average that ranked third in the Centennial Conference and led the Centennial with 67 hits after the regular season. She ranked second in the Centennial with 49 runs scored and swiped 48 bases that also ranks third in all of NCAA Division III. Mallen had multi-hit games in 22 of the Bears 42 games and stole at least one base in 32 of them with only being thrown out twice. She also hit a double and recorded five RBI. Mallen will finish her career with 202 hits which ranks fourth all-time in Centennial Conference history, 139 runs scored, 120 stolen bases, and 49 RBI.

Carr proved once again to be the Bears best power bats in 2025 as she earns her second straight All-Centennial nod and debut on the first team. Carr ranked third in the Centennial Conference with a career best 53 hits and second with 44 RBI that was also a career best. She tied for fourth in the Centennial with five home runs and tied for second with 12 doubles that also claimed her the Bears career doubles record. She had a .611 slugging percentage and tallied 16 multi-hit games with three straight three-hit games coming at the end of March.

Wolf had a breakout collegiate debut season by leading the Bears and ranking fifth in the Centennial Conference with five wins. Wolf posted a 2.97 ERA and a 1.87 ERA in Centennial Conference contests that was the fifth-lowest. She led the team and ranked fifth in the Centennial with 68 strikeouts while tossing eight complete games with one complete game shutout. Wolf ranked sixth in the Centennial Conference with exactly 99 innings pitched.

Andrusiewicz took home her third straight All-Centennial nod and second straight on the honorable mention team after another steady season in the circle. She posted a team-low 2.94 ERA that was also eighth-lowest in the Centennial and ranked second on the team with nine wins that tied for sixth in the Centennial. She ranked third in the Centennial with 112 innings pitched and had 34 strikeouts to just 13 walks.
