BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Cross Country team started its 2025 season strong at the Bryn Mawr Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Bears finished second as a team in the six team field with 51 points that was just behind Swarthmore at 23 points.
First-year
Elias Knoll impressed in his collegiate debut as he led the Bears in fourth overall with a time of 16:40.20 on the 5K race. Classmate
Ryan Ickes followed in second on the team and 12th overall with a time of 16:51.30.
Senior
Liam Johnston crossed the line with a time of 17:27.10 and was third among Bears runners and in 15th while first-year
Ramon Martinez finished with a time of 17:33.70 in 17th overall. Senior
Justice Scheidel was 22nd overall on a time of 18:05.40.
Four Bears finished 24th through 27th as junior
Dom Nunez led the group with an 18:12.60 followed by first-year
Evan O'Connor (18:18.10), first-year
Alex Balbuena (18:18.80), and sophomore
Aidan Furtek (18:22.40). Sophomore Jonathan Sabo finished 29th overall with a 5K personal best time of 18:28.00.
Sophomore Connor Flaherty finished with a time of 19:06.00 and junior
Devon Bock finished with a time of 19:35.60. First-year
Nick Sirdashney (19:47.50), senior
Alek Kusmirek (20:33.50-PB), and junior
Logan Downs (21:23.70) rounded out the Bears.
Ursinus returns to action next Saturday, September 6th as they will compete in the LVC Dutchmen Invitational at 11:00 a.m.
