COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Jaime Michaud was named a USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American, the organization announced Tuesday.
Michaud earned honorable mention recognition as one of 89 players selected nationwide. Preseason All-Americans are chosen by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors with input from collegiate coaches. Last season, Michaud earned second-team All-Centennial Conference honors after ranking second on the team with 30 goals and 56 draw controls.
A Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, native, Michaud became the first Bear since Erin Stroble in 2002 to receive All-American recognition. She scored a career-high four goals and added two ground balls against Washington College last season, while recording hat tricks in consecutive games against No. 3 Gettysburg on April 5 and Swarthmore on April 16. She scored at least one goal in 13 of the Bears' 18 contests, while scoring in 10 straight games from March 12th through April 19th.
The Bears open the season February 21st at Moravian before hosting Neumann University on February 25th for their home opener.
