READING, Pa. – The Ursinus women's track and field team returned to action on Saturday, competing at the Plex Shootout hosted by Alvernia University.
Sophomore
Nadly Gyapong and junior
Sam Wechsler led the Bears with a pair of top-two finishes. Gyapong opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 60 meters, posting a time of 7.99, before placing third in the 200 meters at 26.54. Wechsler made her season debut with a second-place finish in the triple jump, recording a mark of 10.90 meters.
Sophomore
Emily Barlam highlighted Ursinus in the long jump, placing fifth with a mark of 5.21 meters, while Wechsler finished 10th at 5.01 meters. In the 400 meters, first-year Allie Severino placed sixth with a time of 1:04.31, while junior
Kira Wise finished 13th at 1:07.01.
Sophomore
Julianna Mullen recorded an eighth-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:36.45. First-year
Cadence Shaw (21:23.43) and senior
Brooke Richards (21:31.42) rounded out the Bears' competitors in the event, finishing 16th and 18th, respectively.
Junior
Madison Lippay led Ursinus in the high jump, posting a mark of 1.45 meters to place eighth. Senior
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman placed seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 2.90 meters.
The Bears return to action Sunday at the Widener Schuylkill Showdown, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
