Results
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va.
– The Ursinus College women's wrestling team sent six wrestlers to the semifinals of their respective weight classes at the NCAA Region II Championship on Friday afternoon, hosted by West Liberty University.

With eight wrestlers still looking to punch their tickets to the NCAA Championship, Ursinus totaled 61 team points and sits in second place in the team standings. No. 7 Lehigh University leads the field with 63 points, while Lock Haven University (57) ranks third. Eastern University (52.5) and West Liberty (48.5) round out the top five in the 17-team field.

Juniors Mandy Gavares, Stacy Bloomfield and Cloe Charlesworth, along with sophomore Olivia Guy, senior Kalli Roskos and first-year Jurelys Peguero Del Rosario, each advanced to the semifinals for the Bears. Meanwhile, junior Paisley Fox and first-year Tessa Master remain in the consolation quarterfinals. To qualify for the national championship, wrestlers must place within the top three of their respective weight classes.

At 103 pounds, Gavares, the top seed in the bracket, earned a 14-4 victory over West Liberty's Jeulenea Khang in her lone bout to reach the semifinal round. She will wrestle Lehigh's Hattie Mack on Saturday for a chance to advance to the championship round.

Guy reached the championship semifinal for the second straight season after placing second last year at the regional championship. She opened with a 55-second fall over Gannon's Angelina Hargate before earning a 10-0 victory over Alvernia's Remiah Rivera to advance. The third seed at 110 pounds, Guy will face second-seeded Teegan Sibble of East Stroudsburg University in Saturday's semifinal.

In the 124-pound weight class, Roskos, the No. 3 seed, will look to qualify for her third national championship after winning the regional title last season. After a bye in the opening round, Roskos earned a 3-1 decision over East Stroudsburg's Olivia Palmer to reach the semifinals. She will face Lock Haven's Jayleah Pletz on Saturday. In the Bears' dual meet against East Stroudsburg earlier this season, Pletz earned a 3-2 decision.

Bloomfield became the fourth Bear to reach the championship semifinals behind a pair of bonus-point victories at 131 pounds. She opened by pinning Gannon's Jaylene Martinez at the 1:08 mark before earning a 12-0 victory over sixth-seeded Rosemary Dodd of Bethany College. Bloomfield will face West Liberty's second-seeded Cassia Zammit on Saturday, with the winner clinching a berth to nationals.

Charlesworth reached her second straight championship semifinal with a 1-0 record at 145 pounds. The No. 2 seed received a bye in the opening round before pinning East Stroudsburg's Selina Moore at the 1:55 mark of the first period. She will meet Emma Hoppe of Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday.

Peguero Del Rosario became the final Bear to reach the semifinals by pinning Eastern's Maya Kreiger at the 1:52 mark in the 180-pound bracket. The fifth seed, she will wrestle Gannon's Bella Phillips in Saturday's semifinal. Phillips is the top seed and ranked eighth in the country by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

In the 138-pound bracket, Fox remains in contention after finishing 2-1 on Friday. She pinned Muhlenberg's Ella Pomeranz in 21 seconds but fell by a 6-1 decision to third-seeded Lili Ujfalvi in the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket, Fox responded with a 12-1 victory over Janayah Nobles of Pitt-Johnstown to advance to the placement rounds.

At 207 pounds, Master reached the consolation quarterfinals with a 1-1 record. She earned a fall at the 1:42 mark over Arcadia's Lauren Parry in her opening bout but fell by fall to top-seeded Lindsay Laws of Lock Haven in the quarterfinals. Master will face MyJanniea Baptist of Bethany College in her first bout of day two.
