At the U20 Championships, Diaz posted a 3-1 record to win the 55-kilogram bracket and will represent Puerto Rico at the U20 Pan-American Championships and World Championships. The Seaford, New York, native earned three bonus-point victories en route to the gold medal. In the finals, Diaz pinned two-time NWCA All-American Daniela Martinez to secure the gold medal and a spot representing Puerto Rico and Ursinus at the U20 Pan-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 9-11. She will then compete at the U20 World Championships on Aug. 16 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
