LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus women's swimming team wrapped up their Centennial Conference Championship by finishing fourth on Sunday.
The Bears totaled 299 team points to finish fourth overall. Swarthmore College captured the conference title with 819 points. Johns Hopkins finished second with 803.5 points, followed by Gettysburg College in third with 626. Ursinus (299), Franklin & Marshall (259), and Dickinson College (231.5) rounded out the top six in the nine-team field.
Ursinus opened competition in the 200-yard backstroke with sophomore
Maria Wehmeyer finishing 16th with a time of 2:13.83, which marked a career best. Sophomore
Haley Lenker also recorded a personal best in the event, finishing in 2:19.10 to place 21st.
Next, in the 100-yard freestyle, senior
Sara Bozzomo placed 15th overall with a time of 53.29, while first-year
Isabella Warren finished 19th with a personal best of 54.22. First-year
Lindsay Willis (56.63) and junior
Emelia Bowen (57.91) each collected career lows in the 100 freestyle as well, finishing 26th and 33rd, respectively.
Junior
Morgan Valeriano earned a bronze medal in the 200-yard breaststroke, tallying a time of 2:23.09 to finish third. Her time ranks as a personal best and ranks second all-time in program history. Junior
Melanie Hahn followed up Valeriano by placing 11th in the event with a time of 2:27.43.
First-year
Caelan Ladd earned her third medal and second silver of the weekend, by finishing 2nd in the 200-yard butterfly. Ladd tallied a time of 2:06.16 in the event which ranks as a career best and fourth all-time in school history. Junior
Sylvi Lynch finished 15th overall by touching the wall at 2:17.15, while first-year
Kendell Goelz placed 18th with her time of 2:18.57.
Ursinus closed out the championship weekend by finished fifth in the 400-freestyle relay as the group of Ladd, Bozzomo, Hahn, and Valeriano combined for a time of 3:32.63. The Bears close out their 2026 season with a 6-6 overall record and will return to competition this fall.
