Joe Jamison's second All-American, matching Max Borton's eighth-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Championships.
"We wrestled well this weekend, and obviously it's great when you come away with an All-American," Jamison said. "Mo was awesome; he rose to the occasion and achieved his goal. Now Mo has his sights set on a national title, and he knows what he needs to do to get there."
Abdelatty finished 0-2 on the second day of competition to conclude the tournament with a 2-3 overall mark. He fell by an 8-1 decision in his opening match against Baldwin Wallace's Andrew Vanscoy before dropping his seventh-place bout against Wabash's Titus Waters by a 7-4 score.
Against Vanscoy, Abdelatty initiated the first two shots and nearly converted takedowns, but a stalemate was issued each time and the wrestlers entered the second period tied at zero. After choosing bottom, Abdelatty recorded an escape with 1:30 remaining in the period, but takedowns in the second and third by Vanscoy resulted in the 8-1 setback.
In the seventh-place match against Waters, Abdelatty shot in first and nearly converted on a high single leg, but stellar defense resulted in a stalemate. The contest entered the second period tied at zero before Waters tallied a pair of takedowns to grab a 7-1 lead entering the final stanza.
