PHILADELPHIA – A pair of Ursinus Men's Wrestlers were was selected to the Philly-SIDA Men's At-Large Academic All-Area Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday morning. Senior

Braden Kmak represented the Bears on the team.
To be nominated, student-athletes need to have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have completed at least one full year of classes at their current institution. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Updale punctuated his Ursinus wrestling career by going 25-6 in his senior season and valiantly became the Centennial Conference Champion at 184 lbs after a pair of runner-up finishes in his career. Updale ranked as high as sixth in Region III in 184 lb. weight class and helped lead the Bears to three Centennial Conference Team Championships in his career. Updale is a three-time NWCA Scholar All-American along with being a three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll selection and Academic All-Centennial Selection.
Kmak had a career year for the Bears by qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship meet and went 39-9 overall at 165 lbs. He finished second at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships toe earn the national berth and second at the Centennial Conference Championships. He was named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week twice this past season and helped the Bears to another Centennial Conference Team Championship. He is a two-time NWCA Scholar All-American and two-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll pick along with an Academic All-Centennial pick this year.
It is the first career selection to the team for each student-athlete and it is the second straight year at least one Ursinus Men's Wrestler made the At-Large Academic All-Area Team.
