Ashley Noto has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Noto led the Bears to a 2-0 week, totaling 14 points on 10 goals and four assists, while adding five caused turnovers and three ground balls in victories over Neumann and Stevenson. On Wednesday, she recorded a career-high six goals, two assists and five caused turnovers in Ursinus' 15-7 win over Neumann. Against Stevenson on Saturday, Noto scored four goals and added two assists in the team's 16-5 victory over the Mustangs.
The victories gave Ursinus its best start to a season since opening 3-0 in 2007. Noto has scored two or more goals in all three games this season. The Mullica Hill, New Jersey, native leads the Centennial Conference in goals per game (4.00) and ranks second in points per game (5.67).
For her career, Noto ranks 17th in program history in points with 150 on 81 goals and 69 assists. The honor marks the first weekly conference award of her career. She is the second Bear to earn weekly recognition this season after senior
Abby Burkholder was named Defensive Player of the Week last Tuesday.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, March 4th as they travel to Glassboro, New Jersey for a non-conference matchup against No. 23 Rowan University.
