Seven Women's Track & Field Athletes Garner 14 Combined All-CC Nods

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field saw seven student-athletes take home 14 All-Conference nods for their performances at the Centennial Indoor Championships, announced by the conference on Thursday.

Senior Kaelin Ryan led Bears with three First Team Selections behind gold medals in the 60-meter hurdles, 200 meters, and 4x200 relay while first-year Sophia Pascale picked up a pair of first team nods in the 400 meters and 4x200 relay. First-year Laela Middleton and Nadly Gyapong added first team honors off the 4x200 relay. Ryan, Pascale, and Middleton joined senior Jaycie Miller with second team honors in the 4x400 relay while Gyapong also added an honorable mention accolade for the 200-meter dash. Junior Sam Wechsler and sophomore Emily Barlam rounded out the Bears on the team with honorable mention nods.

Ryan had one of the most decorated Centennial Indoor Championship weekends competed by an Ursinus Women's Track & Field Athlete by taking gold in both the 60-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash. Ryan topped her day-old Centennial meet and school record in the 60 hurdles by .001 with her time of 8.80 before winning the 200-meter dash on a time of 25.71. She was the first Bear to claim the 60-meter hurdle gold since Amanda Laurito went back-to-back in 2012 and 2013 and the first for the 200 meters since Erin Farrell in 2016. With her outstanding Sunday coupled with Centennial Conference record performance in the 4x200 relay on Saturday, Ryan became the first Bear since Christa Johnson in 2009 to be named the Most Outstanding Women's Track performer at the Indoor Championships. This came off the heels sharing the Most Outstanding Women's Track performer at the Outdoor Championships in May of last season.

Pascale continued her breakout collegiate debut season own both the meet and school record in the 400-meter dash with her time of 57.97. Pascale became the first Bear in program history to claim gold in the 400-meter dash for the Indoor Championships. Ryan and Pascale teamed up with Middleton and Gyapong to set a school, Centennial, and meet record time of 1:42.31. The time bested the previous Centennial and meet record set by Dickinson at the 2024 Centennial Indoor Championships and they are the first 4x200 Ursinus women's relay team to win gold since 2020.

Pascale, Ryan, and Middleton joined Miller on the silver medalist 4x400 relay team that also set a school record with a time of 4:00.13.
Gyapong claimed her first career individual medal on a bronze in the 200 meters on a season best time of 25.84.

Wechsler and Barlam led the Bears jumpers with bronze medals to garner All-Centennial nods. Barlam locked down her first career medal with a jump of 5.19 meters in the long jump while Wechsler added another medal in the triple jump on a mark of 10.58 meters.

Miller was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team, serving as the Bears representative.
