LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team finished their split squad action this weekend at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic at Lynchburg and Bill Butler Invitational at West Chester on Saturday with a bang by taking down four school records.
Senior
Kaelin Ryan, first-year
Sophia Pascale, sophomore
Nadly Gyapong all topped individual records while the trio and senior
Jaycie Miller topped their one-week-old 4x100 relay record. Pascale blitzed the field with a time of 56.24 in the 400 meter dash that is now the top mark in the Centennial Conference and is 11th fastest for the event in Division III. Pascale topped the old mark of 56.82 set by Kirsten King in 2011. Ryan ran a 25.00 to win the 200 meter dash that is also the fastest in the Centennial Conference at the moment and 18th fastest in Division III. Ryan took down the previous mark of 25.26 held by Amanda Laurito in 2012. Gyapong also took down another record Laurito held in the 100 meter dash by running a 12.18 that placed her third in the race. The three plus Miller won the 4x100 relay by improving their school record mark of 47.77.
Senior
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman placed ninth in the 100 meter hurdles on a personal best time of 16.67 and first-year
Sarah Sulzer also had a ninth place finish but in the 400 meter hurdles on a personal best time of 1:13.17.
In jumps, junior
Madison Lippay finished third in the high jump on a season best mark of 1.50 meters and classmate
Sam Wechsler led the Bears in the triple jump on her mark of 11.34 meters. First-year
Arnie Etienne was sixth at 10.43 meters in the triple jump and junior
Emily Barlam placed eighth at 10.26 meters.
Junior
Hannah Quinn represented the Bears in the discus and recorded a throw of 32.12 meters that placed her 14th overall.
At West Chester, sophomore
Mia Bompensa finished fifth in the pole vault at 3.06 meters.
The Bears return to action on Friday, April 17th as they will open competition at the two-day Widener Paul Donahue Invitational.
