CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team enjoyed another weekend of resetting multiple school records as they took on the Paul Donahue Invitational hosted by Widener this weekend.
Senior
Kaelin Ryan added to her school record list by taking down the Bears 100-meter hurdle outdoor record with a time of 14.37 to finish second overall and first among Division III runners. Its now Ryan's third individual school record she owns at Ursinus now after besting the time of 14.43 set by recently inducted Ursinus Hall of Fame member, Victoria Goodenough, in 2012. Her time is 14th fastest in all of NCAA Division III.
Ryan, however, lost her one-week-old school record in the 200 meters as first-year
Sophia Pascale bested it at a 29.94 to finish seventh overall. Sophomore
Nadly Gyapong also bested Ryan's best time of 25.00 at 24.99 to finish eighth overall. Ryan finished ninth in the 200 meters at 25.31.
The Bears had another 4x100 relay team set a new program record as Ryan, Pascale, Gyapong, and senior
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman finished third on a time of 47.57 that topped another one-week-old school record.
Senior
Jaycie Miller led the Bears in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.15 and first-year
Allison Severino recorded a time of 1:10.42 in the 400-meter hurdles. Senior
Mia Sideris recorded a time of 4:47.03 in the 1,500 meters.
Sophomore
Mia Bompensa led the Bears in the pole vault in eighth on a mark of 3.25 meters and Bauroth-Sherman placed 10th after clearing the same height. Junior Maddison Lippay rounded out the top 10 in the high jump at 1.45 meters and classmate
Sam Wechsler did the same in the long jump at 5.18 meters. Senior
Rhiannon Okuniewski led a pair of Bears in the triple jump at 10.29 meters and first-year
Isabel Dela Torre was at 9.69 meters.
Junior
Hannah Quinn paced the Bears in two throwing events by finishing 10th in the hammer throw at 40.61 meters and 15th in the discus at 32.29 meters. Classmate
Randi Wood recorded a 31.27 meter discus throw.
The Bears open a busy next week as they will send some athletes to the Haverford Mid Week Meet at 3:30 p.m.
