PHILADELPHIA/EWING, N.J. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team began a busy last weekend of April with athletes at both the Penn Relays and at the TCNJ Rick McCorkle Invitational on Friday.
At Franklin Field, the Bears had a pair of relay teams set school records. The Bears had a 4x100 relay team top the school record for the third straight week as first-year
Sophia Pascale, sophomore
Nadly Gyapong, plus seniors
Kaelin Ryan and
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman topped their time from last week with a 47.46 in 17
th overall that was the second best finishing Division III school. The 4x400 relay team of Pascale, Ryan, Bauroth-Sherman, and senior
Jaycie Miller followed at night by besting the 4x400 school record with a second place finish at 3:57.33 that topped the previous mark of 3:59.25 set back in 2002.
The Bears got numerous athletes started in their final tune-up before Centennial Championships next weekend at TCNJ as well. First-year
Sarah Sulzer posted a personal best time of 17.46 in the 100 meter hurdles before finishing seventh in the 400 meter hurdles on a time of 1:11.84 that was also a personal best. Junior
Kira Wise posted a time of 29.31 in the 200 meters and had the Bears top time in the 400 meters at 1:06.53 and senior
Veronica Filippone posted a time of 1:08.03.
First-year
Emi Loverdi had the Bears top time in the 800 meters on a personal best mark of 2:26.57 and sophomores
Lindsay Solomon and
Nicole Parisi finished fifth and sixth in the 3000 steeplechase on times of 13:18.24 and 15:11.80, respectively. Sophomore
Julianna Mullen led a trio of Bears in the 5000 meters with a time of 20:51.98 that finished sixth overall and first-year
Cadence Shaw was seventh at 21:40.28 and classmate
Melody McDonough was eighth at a personal best time of 21:55.59.
Junior
Hannah Quinn recorded a mark of 31.96 meters in the discus and sophomore
Sam Leo posted a 22.48 meter throw in the javelin.
The Bears return to action on Friday, May 1st as they will open up at the 2026 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Gettysburg
