PHILADELPHIA – Recent Ursinus Baseball graduate
Dan Bass earned a spot on the PhillySIDA Baseball Academic All-Area Team that was announced on Wednesday morning.
The Academic All-Area Team, voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metro area, requires a student-athlete to be in their second year at the school and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better. Bass became the first Ursinus Baseball player since Solomon Griffith in 2023 to be named to the team.
Bass, a media and communication studies graduate, had a career year for the Bears on the mound and has amassed numerous postseason nods. He earned All-Region honors from D3Baseball.com and the ABCA while making it on the All-Centennial First Team. Bas led the Centennial with 75 innings pitched and tied for the second-lowest ERA in the league at 3.72. He ranked second with 62 strikeouts in the Centennial Conference and led the league with three complete games with his third coming in his final collegiate start in a win over Washington College in the Centennial Conference Tournament. Bass tied for third in the Centennial and led the Bears with six wins. Academically, Bass garnered CSC Academic All-District honors while being named to the Centennial Conference Academic All-Centennial and Centennial Academic Honor Roll.
