COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus dropped a 6-3 decision to
Division II West Chester on Thursday in women's tennis
action.
The Bears got singles wins from senior Leah Stambaugh
(Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) at number five flight with a 7-6
(7-5), 6-1 win over Kara Shumock, followed by a win from freshman
Chelsea Carman (Novato, Calif./North Bay Marin
School) at number six flight with a 6-2, 6-0 win over
Stephie Richie.
In doubles play, Ursinus got a win from the team of Stambaugh
and junior Julia Kurtz (Spring City, Pa./Owen J.
Roberts) at number three flight, 8-2.
Ursinus will travel to Haverford on Saturday.
