COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team evened their record to 3-3 with a 7-2 win over Lebanon Valley on Friday afternoon in the Bears home opener.

The Bears took all three doubles matches and four of six singles matches in the win.

Starting with doubles, the team of senior Julia Kurtz (Spring City, Pa.) and sophomore Jessica Tyrrell (Shamong, N.J.) won number one flight over Shayna Heintzelman and Christie Graf, 8-4, while the team of freshman Heather McMasters (Wyoming, Del.) and junior Jimena Talavera (Rockville, Md.) defeated Lauren Fulmer and Tam Lobb at number two flight, 8-5.

At number three flight, junior Dana McDonough (Collegeville, Pa.) and freshman Mara Berzins (Perkasie, Pa.) defeated Morgan Brady and Lauren Shanberg, 8-2.

In singles play, Kurtz defeated Heintzelman at number one flight, 6-2, 5-7, 10-5, while Tyrrell won her match at number four flight, 7-5, 6-3.

At number five flight, sophomore Caroline Lippe (Hummelstown, Pa.) defeated Brady, 6-2, 6-4, with McDonough defeating Shanberg, 6-1, 6-0, at number six flight.
