Baseball sweeps Benedict

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Ursinus College baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep on Thursday by defeating Division II Benedict College at the Ripken Complex.

In the first game, the Bears took a 4-1 lead after three en route to a 7-1 win, while plating a seven spot in the fourth in an 11-1 win over the Tigers. 

Ursinus (3-4) was led a 3-for-3 performance from freshman right fielder Tim Muro, with freshman Avery Perez and senior second baseman Ralph Aurora each collecting two hits. 

Junior right hander Alex Manacher went the distance, striking out five and walking two while scattering nine hits. 

In game two, freshman Devyn Kerr when 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI, while freshman Jose Colon was 3-for-3 with two runs scored. 

Freshman Seth Regensburg got the win, striking out nine and walking one in six innings of work while only giving up five hits.
