Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – In its Centennial Conference opener, Ursinus won 2-of-3 of doubles matches to start the day en route to a 6-3 win over Washington College on Wednesday afternoon in women's tennis play.
The Bears (6-3, 1-0 Centennial) then closed out the match with winning four singles matches over the Shorewomen (3-3, 0-2 Centennial).
In doubles play, sophomores Stephanie-Jane Seabra and sophomore BreAnna Bashaw defeated Blair King and Emily Evans by an 8-2 score, with junior Audrey Whitebloom and freshman Christine Palazzolo defeating Amy Stevens and Tricia Valerio at number three flight, 8-3.
In singles play, Bashaw defeated Kang at third flight, 6-4, 6-3, while Seabra defeated Evans at number four flight, 6-4, 7-5.
Junior Christina Cromwell defeated Stevens at number five flight, 6-2, 6-1, while freshman Robin Alsher defeated Valerio at number six flight, 6-3, 6-0.
Ursinus hosts Dickinson Saturday.
