COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. –  The Ursinus College women's tennis team ran its record to 9-5 on the year with a 9-0 blanking of Gettysburg (4-5, 1-3 Centennial) on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears, now 1-4 in the conference, did not lose a set on the day. In singles play, freshman Ashley Nguyen (Exton, Pa./West Chester East) defeated Laura Gradiska, 6-4, 6-3 at number one flight, while senior Audrey Whitebloom (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) won at number two flight over Gillian Minnerly, 6-1, 6-0.

At number three flight, junior BreAnna Bashaw (Vernon, Vt./Northfield-Mount Hermon School) defeated Emily Lutz, 6-1, 6-1, while senior Christina Cromwell (Midlothian, Va./James River) defeated Kelli Ruben, 6-2, 6-2.

At number five flight, freshman Alieen Bevard (West Chester, Pa./Ursuline Academy) defeated Mary Cecio, 6-1, 6-2, while freshman Ariel Danziger (Woodcliff Lake, N.J./Pascack Hills) defeated Mary Pearce, 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles, Nguyen and Bevard defeated Gradiska and Minnerly at number one flight, 8-2, while Whitebloom and junior Stephanie-Jane Seabra (York, Pa./York Suburban) defeated Lutz and Rubin, 8-2.

At number three flight, Bashaw and Cromwell defeated Cecio and Pearch, 8-1.
